Best Summer Events Coming Up in Myrtle Beach

If you plan to visit Myrtle Beach in the summer, you’re in for a treat! Beautiful weather makes for the perfect conditions to take part in some of the best summer events and activities in the area. Best of all, everything is just steps away from our Myrtle Beach oceanfront rentals.

What are the Summers Like in Myrtle Beach?

Summer is the most popular season for tourists in Myrtle Beach, thanks in large part to the great weather. During the summer months of June, July, and August, temperatures stay in the mid-to-upper 80s, while lows hover around 70 degrees. Summer is also the wet season for Myrtle Beach, where the months can see anywhere from 4 to 6 inches of rain. Luckily, the majority of this rain comes in the form of afternoon showers, which allow visitors to check out an indoor activity or just relax with a plate of Myrtle Beach seafood until the shower passes and the cooler evening comes.

The beaches are always welcoming in the summer, and the water is the perfect temperature for everyone to enjoy. It may be a bit chilly in the early morning or the late evening, but anytime throughout the rest of the day, you’ll have perfect conditions for swimming, sunbathing, or any other beach activity.

Best Summer Events

Kickoff the summer by coming out to the Sun Fun Festival, typically held during the last weekend in May. This tradition has been a staple in Myrtle Beach since 1951, where families can come to experience the annual parade, live music, games, food, and so much more!

Held in June, the Annual Carolina Country Music Festival is perfect for music lovers of all ages. More than 30 of country music’s hottest artists come out to perform for the locals and visitors to Myrtle Beach. For 2020, you’ll be able to experience incredible acts like Luke Combs, Eric Church, Jake Owen, Riley Green, Parmalee, and more. Past acts have also included Dan + Shay, Rhett Atkins, Rascal Flatts, and Kellie Pickler, just to name a few.

Don’t miss celebrating International Mud Day with a hike in Myrtle Beach! The International Mud Day Hike takes participants through the North Inlet Salt Marsh Trail, where you’ll have an experienced guide to take you to the ecosystem and teach you all about the animals and plants that live there.

The Fourth of July is an experience all its own in Myrtle Beach, and you have to visit Broadway at the Beach to celebrate Independence Day.

While Broadway at the Beach hosts firework displays throughout the summer, the Fourth of July celebration is definitely the biggest and best. You’ll also find plenty of Fourth of July activities throughout the area, so you can celebrate all day long and finish with some incredible fireworks. This event is one of the most romantic things to do in Myrtle Beach over the summer.

Finally, later in the summer brings the Craftsmen’s Classic Arts and Crafts Festival. Typically held early in August, the Arts and Crafts Festival brings some of the most talented local and national craftspeople to the shores of Myrtle Beach, featuring something for every budget and style. It’s easy to see why this festival has been consistently ranked a top 100 best show in the nation by Sunshine Artist Magazine!
